Native English Teachers

We are seeking native English speaking teachers for Prathom and Matayom (or primary and secondary) starting in May, for the 2010 school year.

Located within a five minute walk of the Chiang Mai, Arcade bus station and only a ten minute ride from the center of historic Chiang Mai City, Dara Academy is northern Thailand’s oldest school.

We are seeking native English speaking teachers for Prathom and Matayom (or primary and secondary) starting in May, for the 2010 school year. Teachers will be responsible for teaching one or two Native Speaker Program classes consisting of roughly 35 students and receive four to five contact hours per week. Teachers will also be responsible for teaching multiple classrooms (normally within the same level as their Native Speaker Program class) of 45 - 50 students, two hours per week. A total teaching load will consist of 18 - 20 hours per week.

The salary for new teachers ranges from 28,000 - 30,000 Thai Baht per month, depending upon experience and education. Air conditioned and fully furnished on-campus accommodation is provided for single teachers. Most work visa and work permit costs and documents will be arranged and paid for by the school. Only native English speakers from the U.K., U.S.A., Canada, Australia and New Zealand with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university will be considered for available positions. Applicants who have an advanced degree or a degree in education, prior teaching experience or TESL/TEFL Certificate will be considered before those who do not.
